Eileen Barrett, MD, MPH, FHM, FACP, is a general internist and medical educator in the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of New Mexico. She earned her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MD at Georgetown University, and completed her residency at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital. She is a Regent of the American College of Physicians, immediate past President of the New Mexico Chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine, former Governor of the New Mexico Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and serves on several national professional society committees. She presents regionally on professional satisfaction and wellbeing, updates in hospital medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, and how hospitalists can reduce complications from substance use disorders.
