Dr. Janis Gonzales is the Bureau Chief and Medical Director for the Family Health Bureau in the Department of Health. She is also the Title V Director for New Mexico, the Vice President of the NM Perinatal Collaborative, and the President of the NM Pediatric Society. She is board certified in Pediatrics and has a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Before coming to work for the Department of Health she worked for the University of New Mexico Center for Development and Disability, Early Childhood Evaluation Program (ECEP), providing developmental evaluations for children birth to three; and prior to that she spent nine years in private practice at Santa Fe Pediatrics in Santa Fe, NM. She is the mother of three children including a daughter with special needs.
